Photographing for charities is exactly the kind of work I enjoy being involved in.
Over the years, I've worked with charities that foster a variety of causes, from environmental to art as tool for social change (namely, Glimpse, Possible, Clean Cities Campaign, People's Palace Projects, The Verbatim Formula, Stages Toolkit and Mina | Migrants in Action). Over the years, I have worked with charities supporting a wide range of causes, from environmental campaigns to projects that use the arts as a tool for social change, including Glimpse, Possible, Clean Cities Campaign, People's Palace Projects, The Verbatim Formula, Stages Toolkit and Mina | Migrants in Action.
With many of these organisations, I have developed long-term working relationships, some spanning more than eight years and still going strong, something that brings me great joy.
I have also been fortunate to work with universities such as King's College London and Queen Mary University of London on projects that bring together research, community engagement and social change.
Below is a selection of photographs from some of these collaborations, with a particular focus on organisations using the arts as a tool for social change.
All of the photographs below were taken at the ECHOES Indigenous Film Festival 2023, held at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. The festival was presented by People's Palace Projects and curated by Brazilian filmmakers Takumã Kuikuro, Graciela Guarani and Ziel Karapotó, tboth of whom are portrayed here.
Next are photographs from two wonderful performances by The Verbatim Formula at the Foundling Museum.
The Verbatim Formula was created to "rethink the way we listen to young people in the care system in the UK. It is a collaborative method that involves policy-makers, artists, social workers, foster carers and, most of all, those who have spent time in the system."
Department for Education (DfE): The Verbatim Formula in Conversation with the Minister for Children and Families
Below are photographs from an event at the Department for Education (DfE), where The Verbatim Formula shared testimonies and experiences with an audience of around 60 people, including DfE civil servants and the Minister for Children and Families.
Finally, I have photographed a number of exhibitions and events for Science Gallery London at King's College London, including My Emotions and Me, The Overview Effect, 404 Papers, Greenhouse Gatherings and Putting Our Heads Together. Below is a selection of photographs from these projects.
I'm available for commissions and collaborations. Just drop me a line, I'd love to hear from you!
